Stamps, Eskimos favored in CFL Week 9
Another big bye week in the Canadian Football League means just a pair of matchups this weekend.
The B.C. Lions, Montreal Alouettes, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders all have the week off, which turns the spotlight on the Calgary Stampeders, Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Edmonton Eskimos.
Toronto will be trying to snap a three-game losing streak when they host the Stampeders on Friday (7:30 pm ET, TSN).
Calgary is a 7-point favorite and the over/under total is 54.5 in CFL Betting Odds at Stan James.
In their last game, the Stampeders were defeated 38-35 by the Eskimos as 2-point road underdogs. The score went over the total of 57.5.
And the Argos blew a late lead and lost 36-28 to the B.C. Lions as 3.5-point underdogs. The score flew over the total of 46.5.
Calgary is 3-4 SU and 2-5 ATS so far this season while Toronto has slipped to 2-5 SU and ATS.
Calgary is 4-1 SU and ATS in the past five meetings, but Toronto is 7-1 SU in the past eight meetings at home.
On Saturday, the Tiger-Cats take on the Eskimos at Commonwealth Stadium (7 pm ET, TSN).
Edmonton is a 7-point favorite at Stan James. The over/under is 53.
The Tiger-Cats lost to Saskatchewan 33-23 as a 6-point underdog last time out, with the score going over the total of 51.5. And the Eskimos scored a touchdown with under a minute remaining to come from behind and defeat the Stampeders 38-35 last time out. The Eskimos managed to cover the 2-point spread, and thescore went over the total of 57.5.
Hamilton is 9-1 ATS in the past 10 meetings but Edmonton is 6-1 SU in the past seven meetings at home.
